Gestamp global strategy awarded by Spanish ‘Club de Exportadores’
Gestamp has been awarded in the twelfth edition of the Internationalization Awards organized by the Spanish organization ‘Club de Exportadores e Inversores’. The company received the award to a big Spanish company with an "outstanding international renown” from Secretary of State for Trade, Jaime García-Legaz, and the High Commissioner of the Government to the ’Marca España’, Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros.
With this award, ‘Club de Exportadores e Inversores’ recognizes once again “the work performed by the Spanish companies with international activities”, as well as the support that them receive from the media and public institutions and their contribution to the internationalization of Spanish economy.
Francisco J. Riberas, President and CEO of Gestamp, thanked this recognition on behalf of all persons who work at Gestamp and considered it "linked to the international expertise" of Gestamp that has been "absolutely key" in its corporate strategy.
Riberas talked about the origins of the company, which was present only in Spain in the 90s and produced "competitive but not own-technology components". "We realized that to be really relevant for our customers, we must be strategic".
Thus, the company, act in two axes. The first, according to Riberas, was focusing "on technologies that our customers did not produce to build lighter and safer cars". The second pillar of the strategy was globalization: "We realized that we had to produce where customers needed our products".
Since 2003, ‘Club de Exportadores e Inversores’ awards for the Internationalization of Exporters and Investors Club have established one of the main events of the Spanish foreign sector. In this edition, Alibérico group, Instituto Elcano and Foro de Marcas Españolas have been also awarded.
